CA Firms
Training for the right to practise public accounting will continue to be offered only by CA firms (including the Offices of the Federal and Provincial Auditors General and the Auditor General of Bermuda); current mandatory assurance, audit and tax requirements remain unchanged. If you are interested in training CA Students in the traditional audit-based career path, specific provincial regulations require that you apply through your Provincial Institute/Ordre. However, you should first familiarize yourself with the basic requirements.
If you are currently training CA Students and wish to expand your program to non-audit engagements OR you are not currently approved to train CA Students but would like to become a CA Training Office offering expanded experience opportunities, you will now have:
- The ability to hire qualified new university graduates directly into areas of your practice such as tax, or business advisory services where they can develop all their required CA competencies; in a small firm environment, it could include a combination of review, compilation and taxation engagements
- The ability to offer exciting CA career opportunities to new university graduates who are interested in the profession but not the traditional audit-based career path
- Added flexibility in tailoring the career paths of your students to best meet the needs of your practice and the career aspirations of your CA students
